We&#8217;re performing together again June 15th at Synesthesia Space in Brooklyn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An evening of live experimental music and visuals. Performances by <strong><strong>The Centaur and The Phoenix <\/strong><\/strong>(Christian Lyon), <strong><strong>sel-sync <\/strong><\/strong>(Robert Dennis)&amp; <strong><strong>Chris Jordan<\/strong><\/strong>(VJ), and <strong><strong>eMBee<\/strong><\/strong>(Michael Bierylo).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8pm-open<br>8:30pm-<strong>The Centaur and The Phoenix <\/strong>(Christian Lyon)<br>9:30pm-<strong>sel-sync <\/strong>(Robert Dennis)\/<strong>Chris Jordan<\/strong> (VJ)<br>10:30pm-<strong>eMBee<\/strong>(Michael Bierylo)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">sel-sync<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When sel-sync was very young, his parents would sometimes marvel at casual remarks he\u2019d make, and say that his way of thinking and speaking was something only a much older person should have. But now that sel-sync has finally reached the age his folks were referring to back then, he feels more 17 than he ever did when he was really was 17. \u201cYou\u2019re only young once,\u201d sel-sync likes to say, \u201cBut you can be immature for ever.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Music and recording were always important to sel-sync. Confidence was however in much shorter supply, so the prevailing assumption was \u201cnever gonna happen.\u201d But then one day, someone happened to point out that, \u201cWell, shit bro \u2014 All you gotta do to want to!\u201d That was the key that tightened the roller skates, and he\u2019s been wearing out knee pads ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>sel-sync\u2019s style is classified as Uglient \u2014 combining ambient, industrial, electronica, found-sound, and academic electronics with brushstrokes inspired from a certain delight in techno, house, dub, breakbeat, and related expressions of celebration. All this, delivered fresh to you in an improvised never-the-same-twice presentation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among sel-sync\u2019s most cherished performance compliments:<br>\u201cIt was 20 minutes into your set before I realized that you were already playing.\u201d<br>And<br>\u201cWhen you started doing your thing, I closed my eyes and I started seeing movies.\u201d<br>The most helpful advice sel-sync ever received was:<br>\u201cDon\u2019t worry about it.
