Governor’s Island is going out with a bang this season, staying open until 11pm Thursday through Sunday; with FIGMENT contributing a full line up of artists, installations, and dj’s on Saturday from 11AM – 11PM.

I’ve thrown myself into the fray with numerous installations, including a 3d stage (thanks Noise), with 3d glasses and silhouettes, projections on the buildings in the courtyard, and the lighting of the courtyard with Christian of Z-Collective.
Governor’s Island at night is a completely magical experience. Primarily becuase it hasn’t been open to the public at night for a very long time; so it feels pristine. But also the insects clearly own the night time out there. Its stunning. Views of the night time skyline that only a handful of people have seen in 30 years; hundreds of Dutch performers, a full roster of FIGMENT artists, and well, a billion-insect chorus of deafening proportions.
