New School Jazz faculty member and alumnus Amir Ziv leads DROID in
concert. The ensemble features Amir Ziv on drums, Shahzad Ismaily on
bass, New School Jazz faculty member Adam Holzman on synthesizer, New
School Jazz alumnus Jordan McLean on trumpet and electronics, and
current New School Jazz student Sissy Clemens on vocals. With visuals
by Chris Jordan.
Amir Ziv is an acclaimed artist who has been shaping the downtown New
York City music scene for over 20 years. He has studied with some of the
most recorded and innovative drummers in cinematic, pop, and jazz music
history including Kenwood Dennard, Efrain Toro, Jim Priess, Joe
Chambers, Joe Porcaro, and Ralph Humphry. Adam Holzman worked with the
Miles Davis’ band from 1985 to 1989 as its musical director,
performing in more than 200 countries.
The concerts of Jazz Presents showcase distinguished New School for
Jazz and Contemporary Music faculty in collaboration with affiliated
artists and the stars of tomorrow – students and alumni of The New
School of Jazz and Contemporary Music.
This series is made possible by a grant from the New York State Council
on The Arts.

$10; free to all students and New School faculty, staff, and alumni
with ID

In person purchases can be made at The New School Box Office at 66 West
12th Street, main floor, Monday-Thursday 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., and Friday
3:00 to 6:00 p.m. The box office opens the first day of classes and
closes after the last paid event of each semester. Reservations and
